حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُقَاتِلُ شَجَاعَةً، وَيُقَاتِلُ حَمِيَّةً، وَيُقَاتِلُ رِيَاءً فَأَيُّ ذَلِكَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ تَعَالَى ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَنْ قَاتَلَ لِتَكُونَ كَلِمَةُ اللهِ هِيَ الْعُلْيَا فَهُوَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a man who fights out of bravery, fights out of tribal zeal, and fights to be seen. Which of these is in the path of Allah, Exalted be He? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever fights so that the word of Allah is supreme, he is in the path of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.'
