✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood at the door of a house in which there were a number of Quraysh. He said: He took hold of the two doorposts, then said: 'Is there anyone in the house except a Qurayshī?' He said: It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, except so-and-so, the son of our sister.' He said: 'The son of a people's sister is one of them.' He said: Then he said: 'This matter is in Quraysh as long as they, when mercy is sought from them, show mercy; when they judge, they are just; and when they divide, they are equitable. Whoever of them does not do that, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people. Neither ṣarf nor ʿadl will be accepted from him.'
