✧ I was riding behind the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said to me, "Do you have any of the poetry of Umayyah b. Abī al-Ṣalt?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Recite to me." I recited a verse to him, and he kept saying to me whenever I recited a verse, "More!" until I recited a hundred verses. He said, "Then the Prophet ﷺ fell silent, and I fell silent."
