حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَقَدْ قَالَ هُشَيْمٌ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مُرْنِي فِي الْإِسْلَامِ بِأَمْرٍ لَا أَسْأَلُ عَنْهُ أَحَدًا بَعْدَكَ. قَالَ: قُلْ آمَنْتُ بِاللهِ ثُمَّ اسْتَقِمْ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: فَمَا أَتَّقِي ؟ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَى لِسَانِهِ
Translation

✧ "O Messenger of Allah, Husaym said: 'O Messenger of Allah, tell me something about Islam which I may not ask anyone else after you.' He said: 'Say: I believe in Allah, then be steadfast.' I said: 'So what should I fear?' He pointed to his tongue and said: 'Restrain this.'"
