حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ
تَزَوَّجْتُ ابْنَةَ أَبِي إِهَابٍ فَجَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ فَذَكَرَتْ أَنَّهَا أَرْضَعَتْنَا، فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقُمْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَكَلَّمْتُهُ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي، فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّمَا هِيَ سَوْدَاءُ. قَالَ: وَكَيْفَ وَقَدْ قِيلَ

✧ I married the daughter of Abu Ihab, then a black woman came and mentioned that she had suckled us. So I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and stood before him and spoke to him, but he turned away from me. Then I stood on his right, and he turned away from me. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, she is only a black woman.' He said: 'How can you, when it has been said?'
