قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَكَانَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا فَائِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى قَالَ
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ هَاهُنَا غُلَامًا قَدِ احْتُضِرَ، يُقَالُ لَهُ: قُلْ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَقُولَهَا. فَقَالَ: أَلَيْسَ كَانَ يَقُولُهَا فِي حَيَاتِهِ ؟ قَالَ: بَلَى. قَالَ: فَمَا مَنَعَهُ مِنْهَا عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ

✧ A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, there is a boy here who is dying. He is told: Say, “There is no god but Allah,” but he cannot say it. He said: Was he not saying it during his life? The man said: Yes. He said: Then what prevented him from it at his death?
