حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: إِنَّ أَرْضَنَا أَرْضُ صَيْدٍ فَيَرْمِي أَحَدُنَا الصَّيْدَ فَيَغِيبُ عَنْهُ لَيْلَةً أَوْ لَيْلَتَيْنِ فَيَجِدُهُ وَفِيهِ سَهْمُهُ ؟ قَالَ: إِذَا وَجَدْتَ سَهْمَكَ وَلَمْ تَجِدْ فِيهِ أَثَرَ غَيْرِهِ، وَعَلِمْتَ أَنَّ سَهْمَكَ قَتَلَهُ فَكُلْهُ

Translation

✧ I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: I said, 'Our land is a land of game, so one of us shoots at game and it disappears from him for a night or two nights, then he finds it with his arrow in it?' He said, 'If you find your arrow and do not find in it the trace of anything else, and you know that your arrow killed it, then eat it.'
