حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ عَنْ مَيْمُونٍ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ
كَانَ لِنَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَبْوَابٌ شَارِعَةٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ قَالَ فَقَالَ يَوْمًا سُدُّوا هَذِهِ الْأَبْوَابَ إِلَّا بَابَ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ فَتَكَلَّمَ فِي ذَلِكَ النَّاسُ قَالَ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ تَعَالَى وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَإِنِّي أَمَرْتُ بِسَدِّ هَذِهِ الْأَبْوَابِ إِلَّا بَابَ عَلِيٍّ وَقَالَ فِيهِ قَائِلُكُمْ وَإِنِّي وَاللهِ مَا سَدَدْتُ شَيْئًا وَلَا فَتَحْتُهُ وَلَكِنِّي أُمِرْتُ بِشَيْءٍ فَاتَّبَعْتُهُ
Translation

✧ Some companions of the Messenger of God ﷺ had doors opening into the mosque. He said: One day he said: Close these doors except the door of Ali. He said: The people spoke about that. He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ stood up, praised God Almighty and extolled Him, then said: To proceed, I ordered the closing of these doors except the door of Ali. And someone of you spoke about it. By God, I did not close anything or open it, but I was commanded something and I followed it.
