حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ قَيْسٍ قَالَقَالَ جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَلَا تُرِيحُنِي مِنْ ذِي الْخَلَصَةِ، وَكَانَ بَيْتًا فِي خَثْعَمَ يُسَمَّى كَعْبَةَ الْيَمَانِيَةِ، فَنَفَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ فِي سَبْعِينَ وَمِائَةِ فَارِسٍ مِنْ أَحْمَسَ، قَالَ: فَأَتَاهَا فَحَرَّقَهَا بِالنَّارِ، وَبَعَثَ جَرِيرٌ بَشِيرًا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ، مَا أَتَيْتُكَ حَتَّى تَرَكْتُهَا كَأَنَّهَا جَمَلٌ أَجْرَبُ، فَبَرَّكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى خَيْلِ أَحْمَسَ وَرِجَالِهَا خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said to me: Will you not relieve me of Dhu al-Khalasa? It was a house in Khath'am called the Yemeni Kaaba. I set out to it with one hundred and seventy horsemen from Ahmas. He said: He came to it and burned it with fire, and Jarir sent a bearer of good news to the Messenger of God ﷺ, saying: By the One who sent you with the truth, I did not come to you until I left it like a scabby camel. The Messenger of God ﷺ blessed the horses of Ahmas and its men five times.
