✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'I cannot learn anything of the Quran, so teach me something that will suffice me instead of the Quran.' He said: 'Say: Glory be to God, and praise be to God, and there is no god but God, and God is greater, and there is no might nor power except with God.' He said: So he went away, or stood up, or something like that. He said: 'This is for God, Mighty and Glorious, but what is for me?' He said: 'Say: O God, forgive me, have mercy on me, grant me well-being, guide me, and provide for me'—or 'provide for me, guide me, and grant me well-being.'
