حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ أَخْبَرَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَجِيلَةَ قَالَ
كَانَتْ جَارِيَةٌ تَضْرِبُ بِالدُّفِّ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَجَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ عُمَرُ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ عُثْمَانُ ؓ، فَأَمْسَكَتْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنَّ عُثْمَانَ رَجُلٌ حَيِيٌّ
Translation

✧ A slave girl was beating the duff in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Then Abu Bakr came, then Umar came, then Uthman ؓ came, and she stopped. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Uthman is a modest man.'
