✧ Usayd b. Hudayr was one of the most virtuous of people. He used to say: 'If only I could be as I am in three of my states: when I recite the Quran, when I hear it being recited, when I hear the sermon of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and when I attend a funeral. I have never attended a funeral but that I spoke to myself only of what is done to it and what it is coming to.'
