✧ A man came while the Messenger of God ﷺ was sitting in the mosque, and he prayed near him, then went to the Messenger of God ﷺ and greeted him. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: Repeat your prayer, for you have not prayed. He said: So he returned and prayed similarly to what he had prayed, then went to the Messenger of God ﷺ, who said to him: Repeat your prayer, for you have not prayed. He said: O Messenger of God, teach me what I should do. He said: When you face the qiblah, say the takbīr, then recite the Opening of the Book (Umm al-Qurʾān), then recite whatever you wish. When you bow, place your palms on your knees, extend your back, and settle in your bowing. When you raise your head, straighten your spine until the bones return to their joints. When you prostrate, settle in your prostration. When you raise your head, sit on your left thigh. Then do that in every rakʿah and prostration.

machine translationI asked my father about a hadith narrated by Ḥammād b. Salamah, from Isḥāq b. ʿAbdillāh b. Abī Ṭalḥah, from ʿAlī b. Yaḥyā b. Khallād, from his paternal uncle, without mentioning his father: that a man entered the mosque and prayed while the Prophet ﷷ was sitting, and he mentioned the hadith. It was narrated by Hammām, from Isḥāq b. ʿAbdillāh b. Abī Ṭalḥah, from ʿAlī b. Yaḥyā b. Khallād, from his father, from his paternal uncle Rifāʿah b. Rāfiʿ, from the Prophet ﷺ. My father said: It was also narrated by Sharīk b. ʿAbdillāh b. Abī Namir, Dāwūd b. Qays and Ibn ʿAjlān, from ʿAlī b. Yaḥyā b. Khallād, and they said: from his father, from Rifāʿah. Ḥammād and Muḥammad b. ʿAmr do not say "from his father". The correct version is: from his father, from his paternal uncle Rifāʿah.
