حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَكَتَبَ بِهِ إِلَيَّ قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا مُجَمِّعُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُجَمِّعٍ قَالَ قِيلَ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ
مَا أَدْرَكْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ - وَقَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَدِمَ وَهُوَ غُلَامٌ حَدِيثٌ - قَالَ: جَاءَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا إِلَى مَسْجِدِنَا - يَعْنِي: مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءَ - قَالَ: فَجِئْنَا فَجَلَسْنَا إِلَيْهِ، وَجَلَسَ إِلَيْهِ النَّاسُ، قَالَ: فَجَلَسَ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ ثُمَّ قَامَ يُصَلِّي، فَرَأَيْتُهُ يُصَلِّي فِي نَعْلَيْهِ

✧ "What did you witness from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" - the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had arrived while he was a young boy - he said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us one day at our mosque - meaning the mosque of Quba. He said: 'We came and sat with him, and the people sat with him.' He said: 'He sat as long as Allah willed him to sit, then he stood up to pray. I saw him praying in his sandals.'"
