✧ I saw Ammar on the day of Siffin, an old man, dark-skinned and tall, holding a spear in his hand while his hand trembled. He said, 'By the One in whose hand is my soul, I have fought with this banner alongside the Messenger of God ﷺ three times, and this is the fourth. By the One in whose hand is my soul, if they were to strike us until they drive us to the peaks of Hajar, I would know that our reformers are upon the truth and that they are astray.'
