✧ A man said to al-Bara while joking with him: You fled from the Messenger of God ﷺ while you were his companions. Al-Bara said: I bear witness about the Messenger of God ﷺ that he did not flee that day. I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ on the day the trench was dug, carrying earth with the people, reciting the words of Ibn Rawaha: O God, had it not been for You, we would not have been guided, nor given charity, nor prayed. So send down tranquility upon us and make firm our feet when we meet. Those who transgressed against us, and if they want strife, we refuse. He raised his voice with it.
