✧ I heard al-Nu'man b. Bashir giving a sermon, saying—and he pointed with his two fingers to his ears—'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The example of the one who upholds Allah's limits, the one who falls into them, and the one who turns a blind eye to them is like a people who boarded a ship. Some of them got the lower part, which was rough and bad, and some got the upper part. When those in the lower part needed water, they passed by those above them and annoyed them. They said, "If we made a hole in our share and drew water from it, we would not annoy those above us." If they left them and their affair, they would all perish. But if they seized their hands, they would all be saved.'
