✧ Ammar and Abdullah b. Masud disputed about tayammum. Abdullah said: If I remained a month without finding water, I would not pray. Ammar said to him: Do you not remember when you and I were among the camels, and I became ritually impure and rolled in the dirt like an animal? When I returned to the Messenger of God ﷺ and told him what I had done, he said: Tayammum would have sufficed you.

machine translationThis hadith is a mistake in the statement of Sufyān: "Nājiyah b. Kaʿb". It is rather Nājiyah b. Khuffāf al-ʿAnazī, and Nājiyah b. Khuffāf is Abū Khuffāf al-ʿAnazī. In my view he did not hear it from ʿAmmār, because Yūnus b. Abī Isḥāq met this Nājiyah, and this is not an early one.
