Translation

✧ He informed him that he went on the expedition of Tabuk with the Messenger of God ﷺ. Al-Mughira said: The Messenger of God ﷺ went aside to relieve himself before the dawn prayer, and I carried a water vessel with him. When the Messenger of God ﷺ returned to me, I began pouring water from the vessel over his hands, and he washed his hands three times, then washed his face. Then he tried to take his jubba off his forearms, but the sleeves of his jubba were too tight, so he inserted his hands into the jubba until he brought his forearms out from beneath it, and he washed his forearms up to the elbows. Then he wiped over his leather socks. Then he came forward. Al-Mughira said: I came forward with him until we found that the people had already put 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf forward to lead them in prayer. He caught one of the two rak'ahs. 'Abd al-Razzaq and Ibn Bakr said: So he prayed the last rak'ah with the people. When 'Abd al-Rahman said the salam, the Messenger of God ﷺ stood up to complete his prayer. That alarmed the Muslims, and they began glorifying God repeatedly. When the Messenger of God ﷺ finished his prayer, he turned to them and said: "You have done well," or "You have been correct," commending them for praying at its proper time.
