حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَعَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ
انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَوَجَدَ مِنِّي رِيحَ الثُّومِ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَكَلَ الثُّومَ؟ قَالَ فَأَخَذْتُ يَدَهُ فَأَدْخَلْتُهَا فَوَجَدَ صَدْرِي مَعْصُوبًا قَالَ إِنَّ لَكَ عُذْرًا
Translation

✧ I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he detected the smell of garlic on me. He said: “Who has eaten garlic?” He said: “So I took his hand and placed it on my chest, and he found it bandaged. He said: “You have an excuse.”
