✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me at the time of al-Hudaybiyah while I had abundant hair. He said: 'It seems the vermin of your head are harming you?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Shave it and slaughter a sheep, or fast three days, or give charity with three sa's of dates among six poor persons.'

What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Ibn Ḥazm

machine translationThe sound report of Kaʿb b. ʿUjrah is what Ibn Abī Laylā narrated, while the narrations of the others are unsettled (muḍṭarib) and mistaken. It is therefore obligatory to abandon what is unsettled in it and to return to the narration of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, which is not unsettled.
