✧ I came to Safwan b. Assal al-Muradi, and he said: "What brought you?" I said: "I came seeking knowledge." He said: "Indeed, I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: 'There is no one who goes out from his house in search of knowledge but the angels lower their wings for him, pleased with what he does.'" He said: "I came to ask you about wiping over the leather socks." He said: "Yes, I was in the army that the Messenger of God ﷺ sent, and he commanded us to wipe over the leather socks if we had put them on in a state of purity: three days if we were traveling, and a day and a night if we were residing, and not to remove them for defecation, urination, or sleep, and not to remove them except for major ritual impurity."
