Musnad Ahmad 18090

Translation

✧ I came as a delegate during the caliphate of Uthman b. Affan, and what prompted me to come was meeting Ubayy b. Kab and the companions of the Messenger of God ﷺ. I met Safwan b. Assal and said to him: "Did you see the Messenger of God ﷺ?" He said: "Yes, and I went on twelve military expeditions with him."
