✧ Al-Dārī used to give the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a skin of wine every year as a gift. When the year came in which it was forbidden, he brought a skin of wine. When he saw him, he laughed and said: 'Did you realize that it has been forbidden after you?' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, shall I not sell it and benefit from its price?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'May Allah curse the Jews! May Allah curse the Jews! May Allah curse the Jews! They went to what was forbidden to them of the fats of cattle and sheep, melted it, and made it a price for it, and sold with it what they would eat. Indeed wine is forbidden, and its price is forbidden. Indeed wine is forbidden, and its price is forbidden. Indeed wine is forbidden, and its price is forbidden.'
