✧ The Prophet ﷺ used to send me on raiding parties. One day he sent me on a raiding party, and there was a man who rode my baggage. I said to him: Set off, for the Prophet ﷺ has sent me on a raiding party. He said: I am not going out with you. I said: Why? He said: Until you give me three dinars. I said: Now, when I have bidden farewell to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? I am not going back to him. Set off, and you shall have three dinars. When I returned from my campaign, I mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ and he said: “He has nothing from this campaign of his, nor from his worldly life, nor from his hereafter, except the three dinars.”
