حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ عَنْ أَبِي رَمْلَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَاهُ مِخْنَفُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ قَالَ
وَنَحْنُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ بِعَرَفَاتٍ فَقَالَ: « يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّ عَلَى كُلِّ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ -أَوْ عَلَى كُلِّ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ - فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ أُضْحِيَّةً وَعَتِيرَةً » قَالَ: « تَدْرُونَ مَا الْعَتِيرَةُ ؟ » قَالَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ: فَلَا أَدْرِي مَا رَدُّوا، قَالَ: « هَذِهِ الَّتِي يَقُولُ النَّاسُ الرَّجَبِيَّةُ

✧ "And we were with the Prophet ﷺ while he was standing at Arafat, and he said, 'O people, indeed, every household or every family must offer a sacrifice and take a full shower every year.' He ﷺ then asked, 'Do you know what is meant by "full shower"?' Ibn 'Awn replied, 'I do not know how they interpreted it.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'This is what people call Rajabiyah.'"
