Amr b. al-As from the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْهَادِعَنْ أَبِي مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ

أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ مَعَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَلَى أَبِيهِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، فَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِمَا طَعَامًا، فَقَالَ: كُلْ، قَالَ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو: كُلْ، فَهَذِهِ الْأَيَّامُ الَّتِي كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُنَا بِفِطْرِهَا وَيَنْهَى عَنْ صِيَامِهَا.

Translation

✧ He entered with Abdullah b. Amr upon his father Amr b. al-As, and he brought them food. He said: Eat. He said: I am fasting. Amr said: Eat, for these are the days in which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command us to break the fast and forbid us from fasting them.
