حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أبو الْعَلَاءِ بْنُ زَبْرٍ قَالَحَدَّثَنِي مُسْلِمُ بْنُ مِشْكَمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيَّ قَالَ
قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَخْبِرْنِي بِمَا يَحِلُّ لِي مِمَّا يَحْرُمُ عَلَيَّ، قَالَ: فَصَعَّدَ فِيَّ النَّظَرَ وَصَوَّبَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: « نُوَيْبِتَةٌ » قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، نُوَيْبِتَةُ خَيْرٍ أَمْ نُوَيْبِتَةُ شَرٍّ؟ قَالَ: « بَلْ نُوَيْبِتَةُ خَيْرٍ، لَا تَأْكُلْ لَحْمَ الْحِمَارِ الْأَهْلِيِّ، وَلَا كُلَّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ ».

✧ I said: "O Messenger of God, tell me what is lawful for me of what is forbidden to me." He said: "He raised his gaze at me and lowered it, then said: 'A little calamity.'" I said: "O Messenger of God, a little calamity of good or a little calamity of evil?" He said: "Rather a little calamity of good. Do not eat the flesh of domestic donkeys, nor any predatory animal with fangs."
