✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed with my father, or my father said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: Stay with me. He said: So he stayed with him, and he brought him food—or a dish of dates mixed with butter and dried curd (ḥays). He said: So he ate. Then he brought him a drink. He said: So he drank. He said: Then he handed it to the one on his right. He said: And when he ate, he would throw the date pit—Shuʿbah described that he would place the pit on the index and middle fingers, then toss it. Then my father said to him: O Messenger of Allah, supplicate to Allah for us. So he said: "O Allah, bless them in what You have provided them, and forgive them, and have mercy on them."
