حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَمِّهِ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الضَّالَّةِ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ تَغْشَى حِيَاضِي، هَلْ [لِي] مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَسْقِيهَا؟ قَالَ: « نَعَمْ، فِي كُلِّ ذَاتِ كَبِدٍ حَرَّى أَجْرٌ

✧ I asked the Messenger of God ﷺ about the stray camel that comes to my watering troughs. Is there any reward for me if I give it water? He said: "Yes, in every living, thirsty creature there is reward."
