حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ

دَخَلَ الْعَبَّاسُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا لَنَخْرُجُ فَنَرَى قُرَيْشًا تَحَدَّثُ، فَإِذَا رَأَوْنَا سَكَتُوا! فَغَضِبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَدَرَّ عِرْقٌ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: « وَاللهِ لَا يَدْخُلُ قَلْبَ امْرِئٍ إِيمَانٌ حَتَّى يُحِبَّكُمْ لِلهِ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ] وَلِقَرَابَتِي

Translation

✧ Al-Abbas entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, we go out and see Quraysh conversing, but when they see us they fall silent! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ became angry and a vein between his eyes throbbed, then he said: "By Allah, faith does not enter the heart of a man until he loves you for the sake of Allah [Mighty and Majestic] and for my kinship."
