حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَ مُطَرِّفٌ عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ حِمَارٍ
أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ الرَّجُلَ يَشْتُمُنِي وَهُوَ أَنْقَصُ مِنِّي نَسَبًا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: « الْمُسْتَبَّانِ شَيْطَانَانِ، يَتَهَاتَرَانِ وَيَتَكَاذَبَانِ ».

✧ He asked the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Messenger of God, do you see a man who insults me, though he is of lower lineage than me? The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "The two who insult each other are two devils; they trade insults and lie to each other."
