حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، قَالَ

تَزَوَّجَ عَقِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا، فَقُلْنَا بِالرِّفَاءِ وَالْبَنِينَ، فَقَالَ: مَهْ لَا تَقُولُوا ذَلِكَ، فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَدْ نَهَانَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَ: قُولُوا: بَارَكَ اللهُ فِيكَ، وَبَارَكَ لَكَ فِيهَا

Translation

✧ Aqil b. Abu Talib got married, and he came out to us. We said, "With harmony and sons." He said, "Stop, do not say that, for the Prophet ﷺ forbade us from that and said: Say: May Allah bless you and bless her for you."
