حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو كَثِيرٍ مَوْلَى اللَّيْثِيِّينَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَحْشٍ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَاذَا لِي إِنْ قُتِلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: الْجَنَّةُ، فَلَمَّا وَلَّى قَالَ: إِلَّا الدَّيْنَ. سَارَّنِي بِهِ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ آنِفًا

Translation

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, what will I have if I am killed in the path of Allah? He said: Paradise. When he turned away, he said: Except for the debt; Gabriel ﷺ just whispered that to me.
