حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مَنْصُورًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّعَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ أَبِي كَرِيمَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ

عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ لَلَيْلَةُ الضَّيْفِ حَقٌّ وَاجِبَةٌ، فَإِنْ أَصْبَحَ بِفِنَائِهِ فَهُوَ لَهُ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ، إِنْ شَاءَ اقْتَضَى، وَإِنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَ

Translation

✧ Every Muslim has an obligatory right to the guest's night. If he [the guest] wakes up [still] at his [host's] courtyard, then it is a debt owed to him by him [the host]. If he wills, he may claim it, and if he wills, he may leave it.
