حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ قَالَ
حَفِظْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ اثْنَتَيْنِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كَتَبَ الْإِحْسَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ، وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبْحَ، وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ، ثُمَّ لِيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ
Translation

✧ I memorized from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ two things: he said: “Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has prescribed excellence in everything. So when you kill, kill well; and when you slaughter, slaughter well. Let one of you sharpen his blade, then give his animal rest.”
