حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

خَرَجَ عُمَرُ عَلَى النَّاسِ يَضْرِبُهُمْ عَلَى السَّجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ، حَتَّى مَرَّ بِتَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ فَقَالَ: لَا أَدَعُهُمَا، صَلَّيْتُهُمَا مَعَ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكَ؛ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: إِنَّ النَّاسَ لَوْ كَانُوا كَهَيْئَتِكَ لَمْ أُبَالِي

Translation

✧ Umar went out to the people striking them for (praying) the two prostrations after Asr, until he passed by Tamim al-Dari, who said: I will not abandon them; I prayed them with one better than you—the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Umar said: If people were like you, I would not care.
