حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَيَّاشٍ يَعْنِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ وَغَيْرِهِ عَنْ أَبِي حَرِيزٍ مَوْلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ

خَطَبَ النَّاسَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بِحِمْصَ فَذَكَرَ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حَرَّمَ سَبْعَةَ أَشْيَاءَ، وَإِنِّي أُبَلِّغُكُمْ ذَلِكَ وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ؛ مِنْهُنَّ النَّوْحُ، وَالشِّعْرُ، وَالتَّصَاوِيرُ، وَالتَّبَرُّجُ، وَجُلُودُ السِّبَاعِ، وَالذَّهَبُ، وَالْحَرِيرُ

✧ Muawiyah delivered a sermon to the people in Hims and mentioned in his sermon that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade seven things, and I convey that to you and forbid you from them: among them wailing, poetry, images, tabarruj, skins of beasts of prey, gold, and silk.
