✧ We entered upon Muawiyah, and the caller gave the call to prayer, saying: God is greatest, God is greatest. Muawiyah said: God is greatest, God is greatest. Then he said: I bear witness that there is no god but God. Muawiyah said: And I bear witness—Abu Amir said: that there is no god but God—then he said: I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God. Muawiyah said: And I bear witness—Abu Amir said: that Muhammad is the Messenger of God—Yahya said: Then a man told us that when he said: Come to prayer, he said: There is no might nor power except with God. What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

حديث معاوية في هذا الباب مضطرب الألفاظ وأظن أبا داود إنما تركه لذلك وكذلك البخاري

machine translationThe hadith of Muʿāwiyah in this chapter is inconsistent in its wording (muḍṭarib al-alfāẓ), and I think that Abū Dāwūd left it out for this reason, and likewise al-Bukhārī.
