✧ We set out intending to go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and with us was Wāʾil b. Ḥujr. An enemy of his seized him, and the people were reluctant to swear oaths, but I swore that he was my brother, so he released him. Then we came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I mentioned that to him, and he said: “You were the most righteous and truthful of them. You spoke the truth. The Muslim is the brother of the Muslim.”
