قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ حَدَّثَنِي سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمُؤَدِّبُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ عَائِذٍ قَالَ
رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ خَرْمَاءَ، وَعَبْدٌ حَبَشِيٌّ مُمْسِكٌ بِخِطَامِهَا.
