✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ came to them and with him was Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr had a daughter with us who was being nursed. The Messenger of God ﷺ wanted to take a shortcut on the road to Madinah, so Sa'd said to him: 'This is the hollow of Rukubah, and in it are two thieves from Aslam called the two despised ones. If you wish, we can go by way of them.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Take us by way of them.' Sa'd said: So we went out until when we overlooked them, one of them said to his companion: 'This is the Yamani.' The Messenger of God ﷺ called them and presented Islam to them, and they became Muslims. Then he asked them their names, and they said: 'We are the two despised ones.' He said: 'Rather, you are the two honored ones,' and he ordered them to come to him in Madinah. We went out until we came to the outskirts of Quba', and the Banu 'Amr b. 'Awf met him. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Where is Abu Umamah As'ad b. Zurarah?' Sa'd b. Khaythamah said: 'He was afflicted before me, O Messenger of God. Shall I not tell him for you?' Then he went on until when he appeared at the palm grove, there was the drinking trough full. The Prophet ﷺ turned to Abu Bakr and said: 'O Abu Bakr, this is the stopping place. I saw myself descending to pools like the pools of Banu Mudlij.'
