حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْأَكْوَعِ قَالَ
خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى قَوْمٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ وَهُمْ يَتَنَاضَلُونَ فِي السُّوقِ، فَقَالَ: ارْمُوا يَا بَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ، فَإِنَّ أَبَاكُمْ كَانَ رَامِيًا، ارْمُوا وَأَنَا مَعَ بَنِي فُلَانٍ- لِأَحَدِ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ- فَأَمْسَكُوا أَيْدِيَهُمْ، فَقَالَ: ارْمُوا قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كَيْفَ نَرْمِي وَأَنْتَ مَعَ بَنِي فُلَانٍ ؟ قَالَ: ارْمُوا وَأَنَا مَعَكُمْ كُلِّكُمْ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ went out to a group of Aslam while they were competing in archery in the market. He said: 'Shoot, O sons of Ishmael, for your father was an archer. Shoot, and I am with the sons of so-and-so'—for one of the two teams. They lowered their hands. He said: 'Shoot.' They said: 'O Messenger of God, how can we shoot when you are with the sons of so-and-so?' He said: 'Shoot, and I am with all of you.'
