قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ الصَّعْبِ بْنِ جَثَّامَةَ اللَّيْثِيِّ

أَنَّهُ أَهْدَى إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ بِالْأَبْوَاءِ أَوْ بِوَدَّانَ حِمَارًا وَحْشِيًّا فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى مَا فِي وَجْهِي قَالَ: إِنَّا لَمْ نَرُدَّ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا أَنَّا حُرُمٌ

✧ He gifted to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was at al-Abwa' or Waddan a wild donkey, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned it to him. When he saw what was in my face, he said, 'We have not rejected you except that we are in ihram.'
