حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ أَبِي وَجْزَةَ السَّعْدِيِّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ فَقَالَ: " يَا عُمَرُ " قَالَ هِشَامٌ: يَا بُنَيَّ، سَمِّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ. قَالَ: فَمَا زَالَتْ إِكْلَتِي بَعْدُ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ was brought food and said, 'O ‘Umar'—Hisham said: 'O my son—mention the name of God, the Mighty and Majestic, eat with your right hand, and eat from what is near you.' He said: 'And that remained my manner of eating thereafter.'
