✧ Mutarrif bin Abdullah from his father

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَفِي صَدْرِهِ أَزِيزٌكَأَزِيزِ الْمِرْجَلِ مِنَ الْبُكَاءِ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ لَمْ يَقُلْ مِنَ الْبُكَاءِ إِلَّا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  2. Ḥammād b. Salamah
  3. Thābit al-Bunānī
  4. Muṭarrif b. ʿAbdullāh from his father

✧ I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ, and in his chest there was a sound like the boiling of a cauldron from weeping. ʿAbd Allāh b. Aḥmad said: No one said "from weeping" except Yazīd b. Hārūn.
