حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قُشَيْرٍ الْجُعْفِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ قُرَّةَعَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
أَتَيْتُ [ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ ] فِي رَهْطٍ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ، فَبَايَعْنَا وَإِنَّ قَمِيصَهُ لَمُطْلَقٌ، فَبَايَعْتُهُ، فَأَدْخَلْتُ يَدِي مِنْ جَيْبِ الْقَمِيصِ، فَمَسِسْتُ الْخَاتَمَ. قَالَ عُرْوَةُ: فَمَا رَأَيْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، وَلَا ابْنَهُ شِتَاءً وَلَا حَرًّا إِلَّا مُطْلِقَيْ أَزْرَارِهِمَا لَا يَزُرَّانِ أَبَدًا

✧ I came to [the Prophet ﷺ] with a group from Muzaynah, and we gave him our allegiance. His shirt was unbuttoned. I gave him my allegiance, then I put my hand into the opening of his shirt and touched the seal. 'Urwah said: I never saw Mu'awiyah or his son, in winter or summer, except with their buttons unfastened, never buttoning them.
