✧ From Jabir—and Abu al-Zubayr did not fully convey this entire account—that Abu Qatada came to his family and found a bowl of tharid made from dried sacrificial meat. He refused to eat it, so he went to Qatada b. al-Nu'man and informed him that the Prophet ﷺ stood during the Hajj and said: 'I had commanded you not to eat the sacrificial meats beyond three days so that it might suffice you, but I now make it lawful for you, so eat of it as you wish.' He said: 'And do not sell the meat of the hady or the sacrifices, but eat, give charity, and benefit from their hides. If you are given any of their meat, eat it if you wish.'
