حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خُبَيْبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ نِيَارٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ قَالَ
أَتَانَا وَنَحْنُ فِي مَسْجِدِنَا قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِذَا خَرَصْتُمْ فَخُذُوا وَدَعُوا: دَعُوا الثُّلُثَ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَدَعُوا أَوْ تَجُدُّوا - شُعْبَةُ الشَّاكُّ - الثُّلُثَ أَوِ الرُّبُعَ.

✧ He came to us while we were in our mosque. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When you estimate the harvest, take and leave: leave one-third. If you do not leave or pick — Shu‘bah was uncertain — one-third or one-fourth.”
