حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ قَالَتْ
رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْمِي جَمْرَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ مِنْ بَطْنِ الْوَادِي يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، لَا يَقْتُلُ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا، وَلَا يُصِيبُ بَعْضُكُمْ، وَإِذَا رَمَيْتُمُ الْجَمْرَةَ فَارْمُوهَا بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ. فَرَمَى بِسَبْعٍ وَلَمْ يَقِفْ وَخَلْفَهُ رَجُلٌ يَسْتُرُهُ، قُلْتُ: مَنْ هَذَا ؟ قَالُوا: الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ.

✧ I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stoning Jamrat al-‘Aqabah from the bottom of the valley on the Day of Sacrifice, saying: “O people, let not some of you kill others, and let not some of you harm others. When you stone the Jamrah, stone it with pebbles like those used for khafdh.” He threw seven pebbles and did not stop. Behind him was a man shielding him. I said: “Who is this?” They said: “Al-Fadl b. al-‘Abbas.”
